We are fortunate in having a sizeable car park, with plenty of space for all our needs. It is quite well lit at night and is patrolled during performances.

The outside walls of the theatre have recently been clad in metal and insulated for additional warmth. A small vestibule leading into the foyer has also been added to the front of the building.

|
At the side of the playhouse the Fellowship Players have their building for rehearsals and the storage of scenery and props.

Thanks to this new fire escape, no longer do the lighting and sound operators have to risk life and limb scaling a slippery vertical ladder to reach the lighting box. ...And by the way, it also means patrons can make a quicker exit in case of emergency!

On the desk up in the box are the panels of dimmers and controls for lights and sound. The small window gives a view of the auditorium and also shows what is taking place on stage – essential where effects are required exactly on cue.

The refurbished foyer may have lost its former quaintness but it is now light and airy and is more effectively heated. As well as being used by our theatre patrons it is useful for meetings, play readings and rehearsals.

There is a raked auditorium holding 104 tip-up seats, all of which give a clear view of the stage. With prior notice, some seats at the front can be removed to accommodate wheelchairs. The front row is Row F, which newcomers may find rather confusing! The explanation is quite simple: some seats had to be sacrificed to allow for the construction of an apron at the front of the stage.

We have two dressing rooms, the larger one usually being occupied by the ladies. Each has a wash basin and toilet as well as mirrors and ample lighting. There is also a small speaker so that the actors can hear what is happening on stage.

This stage-set is nearing completion but the floor is still to be painted and finishing touches have to be added to the door and windows at the rear. The red velvet curtains are still inside their protective bags and because of the amount of dust about, there are also covers over the seats.
